white gay women in fandom have got to accept the fact that a majority of the content we get is made for us and we get to see ourselves in what limited content we do have. and if youre not watching shows that have sapphic women of color in them because you ‘cant relate’ to them or whatever else it is you gotta take a step back and critically thing about why youre not championing these shows in the same way youre supporting (often, more mediocre) shows that have white women at their centre, why youre holding shows about poc to much higher standards or just completely sleeping on them altogether.
just to make it clear i’m white. i also think it deserves mention that it’s not up to poc to have to police the racist behaviour of white people and that white people need to be proactive in recognizing and fixing any internalized racism we may have.
